Masking I: Uncovering the many parts of us
behind a full neutral silent mask, giving oneself permission to play freely. The
mask helps to breathe deeply and see from a new angle. What might happen on the
face now can shift into the body.
Breathing and stretching to ready the body to
come to the mask. Discovering how to breathe, see and move in a full neutral
mask in slow motion acompanied by drumming. Eventual mirroring with partners,
improvising animal and human behavior to physicalize a simple story exchange in
silence.
Masking II: Introducing sound and language into
a half neutral mask with breathing, seeing and moving in sounded slow motion
accompanied by drumming. Eventual mirroring with sound and movement and
improvising animal and human behavior. to physicalize a simple story exchange.
Masking III: Character Masks at play with movement, sound and
text.
Dress: Loose neutral colored clothing and flat indoor shoes.
